Typical work duties may include:

  • Dealing with invoices
  • Credit notes
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll
  • Sole trader and company accounts
  • Word processing
  • Photocopying, answering telephone and other general office duties

 

Programme Details

Level 2 (SCQF 5) MA Accounting (Association of Accounting Technicians Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting)

 

Level 3 (SCWF 6) MA Accounting (Association of Accounting Technicians Advanced Diploma in Accounting)

 

Level 4 (SCQF 8) MA Accounting (Association of Accounting Technicians Professional Diploma in Accounting)

 

Open learning through BPP

 

The qualification is awarded and accredited through Association of Accounting Technicians.

 

Duration for each level depends on the apprentice but generally 18 months per level. .

 

Personal Qualities, Skills and Qualifications

 

Highers in relevant subjects are desirable. National 5 / Credit Standard Grades are essential

Applicants will have a pleasant manner and smart appearance.

A mature outlook and willingness to work as part of a team are essential. There is considerable study for this qualification, with exams and applicants must be motivated foe continuous study throughout the apprenticeship.
